MailGate Support Issues

Q. Why does MailGate close the connection while I'm browsing?
A. We have found that when using IE5 on the machine MailGate is running on, the browser can make direct use of the Dial-Up connection - causing MailGate to become inactive and timeout, thus closing the connection.

To prevent this you will need to ensure that the Dial-Up settings, as well as the LAN settings, are set up to use a Proxy server. Details can be found in the Browser Configuration Notes.
