MailGate Support Issues

Q. How do I set up the SocksCap Socks client to work with MailGate?
A. Details of how to download and install SocksCap with MailGate can be found below.

SocksCap Socks Client
SocksCap is an application that resides on any client machine needing to use the Socks protocol. It enables TCP and UDP client applications to traverse a Socks firewall. SocksCap intercepts the networking calls from WinSock applications and redirects them through the Socks server without any modification to the original applications or to the operating system software or drivers.

The way that Socks access is provided is that any applications requiring Socks access will need to be added individually to the SocksCap Control Panel, and will need to be initiated from within it (by double-clicking it's icon from within the SocksCap Control Panel).

There are two flavours of SocksCap:
SocksCap16 - for 16 bit applications - Win3.1 and Windows for Workgroups 3.11
SocksCap32 - for 32 bit applications - Win95/98//ME/NT/2000 or XP
