MailGate Support Issues

Q. My ISP requires SMTP authentication, how do I configure this?
A. Details of setting up SMTP authentication can be found below:

In MailGate...

1. Click on Gateway | Setup | E-mail tab.
2. Click on the "Auth" button beside the "ISP SMTP Server" field.
3. On the window that appears, set the "Authentication mode" dropdown menu to the required setting:

Dialin User/Pwd: If your ISP requires you to authenticate with the account name and password you use to connect to the Internet, select "Dialin user/pwd".

specified User/Pwd: If your ISP requires you to authenticate with a specific account name and password, select "Specified User/Pwd" from the drop-down menu, and enter the name and password into the fields provided.
