POPWeasel Support Issues
Q. How can I schedule POPWeasel to run automatically?
A. The Windows Scheduler can be used to run POPWeasel at whatever time intervals you require.
As the Windows Scheduler runs as a service, POPWeasel can be successfully initiated, even if the machine isn't logged in.
The following instructions can be used to set up a POPWeasel schedule:
- Click on Start | Control Panel | Scheduled Tasks.
- Double-click on 'Add Scheduled Task'.
- Click on the 'Next' button.
- Use the 'Browse' button to locate POPWeasel (usually "C:\Program Files\Weasel\weasel.exe"), then click 'Open'.
- Under the 'Perform this task' option, select the 'Daily' radio-button, then click 'Next'.
- Set the 'Start time' to the time you wish POPWeasel to start collecting each day.
- Set the 'Perform this task' option to 'dialy', 'weekdays', according to your requirements.
- The 'Start date' should automatically be set to the current day, so just click 'Next'.
- Enter the name and password for the administrator (the name should automaically be inserted), then click 'Next'.
- Select the 'Open advanced properties for this task when I click finish' box, then click 'Finish'.
- On the screen that appears, select the 'Schedule' tab, then click on the 'Advanced' button.
- Check the 'Repeat task' box, set the 'every' option to the number of minutes you want POPWeasel to check, and set the 'duration' to the number of hours per day that you wish POPWeasel to operate.
- Click 'OK', then 'OK' again to complete the schedule.
